Introduction:
What Is a Schedule?
|
Your device’s schedule is based on a time event that automatically triggers the selected actions, without manual intervention. This mechanism makes the connected device autonomous, executing the right action at the right time, without repeated instructions. This is its sense of "when." You can schedule a specific state at a given time and day, then set another state at the end, ensuring flexible management according to your needs. |
Why Create a Schedule?
|
Some devices can operate automatically via scenarios or heating schedules, but the scheduling function offers specific and complementary management. Individual scheduling is ideal for automating a single device simply and quickly, unlike scenarios and schedules that can manage multiple devices. It also allows you to create multiple distinct schedules, easily activated or deactivated via sliders, offering great flexibility to quickly adjust settings as needed. |
How to Create a Schedule:
|
2 - In the Home tab, select your device to access its control page. 3 - To schedule, tap "Add" at the bottom of the "Add a Schedule" tile. |
Steps to Create Your Schedule:
Configure a Scheduled Action:
|
4 - Start by naming your schedule for easy identification.
|
| It is essential to choose a clear name for your schedule to quickly identify its function during future consultations. |
|
5 - To set the start time, click the "Start Time" tile. You can choose among three options:
|
|
| In this example, the start time is set to dusk, with the schedule starting 1 hour earlier. Thus, the schedule begins one hour before sunset to anticipate events during this period. |
|
⚠ A schedule should not be confused with a scenario. It allows only one start time, setting a precise moment for the action. To perform the same action at multiple times, create multiple distinct schedules, each with its own start time, ensuring better organization. |
|
6 - Define the initial state of your device by clicking the "Device State" tile. A new page will open with several possible states to easily configure its behavior according to your needs:
|
|
For our connected Inspire fan, we choose the "Light" functionality in the "On" state. Without activating the end of schedule, the action triggers one hour before sunset. This turns on the light of our connected fan. |
Configure an End to the Schedule:
| Activating an end time is not mandatory. If you do not activate it, the schedule will execute only at the start time with the defined state. |
| 7 - To set an end to your schedule, first activate the slider on the "Enable an End" tile. It will change appearance |
|
8 - To define the end time, click the "End Time" tile. You can choose among three options:
|
| In this example, the schedule always ends at 11:30 PM, ensuring a fixed and regular end. |
|
9 - Determine the final state of your device by clicking the "Device State" tile. A new page will open with several options to configure the final behavior according to your needs:
|
|
For our connected Inspire fan, we selected the "Light" and "Fan" functions in the "Off" state. The schedule will turn on the light one hour before sunset, then turn off both light and fan at 11:30 PM. |
Set Operating Days:
|
10 - Scroll down to the Recurrence section to access day-by-day scheduling options. By default, all days are selected, so the schedule will apply every day unless changed. Keep the selection if you want a daily schedule. Otherwise, click on the days to exclude to deselect them. This way, you customize the activation days according to your needs. |
|
| For our example, we deselect Saturday and Sunday, making the schedule active only from Monday to Friday. Thus, the defined rules will not apply on weekends, targeting weekdays only. |
|
11 - Finally, save the configured schedule. Click the "Save" button at the bottom on Android, or the checkmark "✔" at the top right on iOS, to confirm your changes. After saving, you will be redirected to the control page where schedules are visible; you can review them or create new ones. |
|
The schedule turns on the light of the connected Inspire fan one hour before sunset. It ends at 11:30 PM, turning off the light and fan, Monday through Friday. |
What to Know About Schedules:
Is it necessary to set an end time for the schedule?
No, the end time is optional. You can schedule only a start to change a device’s state at a specific time.
Can I create multiple schedules?
Yes, you can create multiple schedules. Follow the instructions to add a new one.
| To create a new schedule, click the "+" button to the right of your current schedules. |
Can I split my schedule into two?
Yes, delete the end of the current schedule, then create a new one with the desired start, time, and state.
Is there a limit to the number of schedules per device?
No, you can create as many schedules as you want.
What scheduling errors should I avoid?
Avoid overlapping times and leave at least one minute between schedules. Also check device states, changing their state at the start and end.
-
How do I disable a schedule without deleting it?
Follow the instructions below to disable your schedule without deleting it.
A switch allows you to easily activate or deactivate your schedule. Select it, then at the bottom, click the slider to confirm:
When the slider is on, the schedule runs normally.
When it is off, the schedule is paused without being deleted, ideal for a break. Why doesn’t my schedule start even though I’m within the time frame?
The schedule starts only at the exact planned time. If that time has passed, it will not start even if you are still within the time window. For example, at 2:05 PM, a schedule set from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM will not start.
Why doesn’t my device’s state change after the end of a schedule that started late?
If the schedule did not start because the start time was missed, it cannot end. The state changes only at the end of a schedule that actually started.
If my device is already in the start state, will it be set to the end state?
Yes, as soon as the schedule starts, the device is set to the start state (even if identical) and then to the end state at the end, except in case of a temporary override.
If I change my device’s state during the schedule, will it still take the end state?
Yes, regardless of changes, the end state will be applied, except in case of a temporary override.
My device was offline at the start or end; will it be set to the expected state after reconnection?
No, the device must be online at the time of sending. Otherwise, the data is lost and the state does not change.
Can schedules be used with other functions like scenarios or heating schedules?
It is not recommended to use schedules and heating schedules simultaneously to avoid conflicts. However, schedules and scenarios can coexist if their times do not contradict each other.
Does execution time depend on my phone’s time?
No, it is based on the platform’s time according to the country chosen when creating the home (e.g., Paris time for France).
