A timer is a command sent to an object to indicate: "In X seconds, minutes, or hours, you must change your state." Once the timer is activated, a countdown begins and, when it reaches zero, the programmed action is executed.

The timer allows performing a simple action after a predefined delay.

How does it work exactly? To program a timer, two elements must be defined:

  • The duration: the period during which the timer should run (for example: 15 minutes, 2 hours).
  • The final state: the action the object must perform once the time has elapsed (turn on or turn off).

1 - Open the Enki app by selecting the "" icon from the list of installed apps on your phone.

2 - On the main page of the "Home" tab of the Enki app, find your device, then click on it to access its control page.

3 - On this page, please click on the "Timer" tile displayed on the screen. The timer configuration page for your device will then appear.

 

Steps to create your timer:

4 - You can, upon opening the timer, see that you have the possibility to perform the following actions with your device:

Please click on the action to perform for your device to highlight and select it for the timer.

Setting the timer duration:

This duration that we will carefully define plays a fundamental role, as it is at the end of this countdown that the previously configured action will be automatically triggered. In other words, the time parameter we set conditions the exact moment when the desired operation will take effect."

 

5 - To configure the timer, you need to follow a series of specific steps depending on your device's operating system:

  • Android:
    Flèche Enki.png On an Android device, start by clicking on the time section you want to modify, whether it is hours, minutes, or seconds. Once this section is selected, you can directly enter the desired duration using the on-screen numeric keyboard. This method allows you to precisely set the time you want for your timer by adjusting each time unit according to your needs.
  • iOS:
    Flèche Enki.png On an iOS device, timer configuration is done by scrolling through the different time segments. You must scroll the hours, minutes, and seconds separately to adjust the total timer duration. This intuitive interface allows you to easily select the desired duration by sliding the time wheels up or down, thus offering smooth and precise control over the timer setting.

 "In this example, we will set a timer with a precise duration of 3 hours and 10 minutes. This means that from the moment we activate or confirm this timer, the countdown will automatically start. The delay will then be counted down until it reaches zero, marking the end of the defined period."

 

To confirm the configuration of your timer that you just set, you need to validate by clicking on the checkmark "✔". This checkmark is located at the top right of the window dedicated to the timer. Once you click on this icon, your choice is saved and the timer countdown starts immediately, allowing you to track the time you defined.

  • Can a timer be executed on multiple devices simultaneously?
    Flèche Enki.png No, the timer is specific to a given device. That is why it is only accessible from the control page of that device, which will be the only one affected by the timer.

  • Is it possible to have multiple devices on a timer simultaneously?
    Flèche Enki.png Yes, all devices compatible with a timer can be activated individually. Each timer must be configured from the control page specific to each device.

  • Why are not all functions of my device available in the timer?
    Flèche Enki.png The timer only allows executing the main and basic functions of devices. Complex commands related to the same device are not supported by the timer.
  • How to stop an already active timer?

  • Click on the red cross " X " at the end of the timer tile.
  • Click on the "Stop" button located under the timer.
  • Is it possible to change the duration of my ongoing timer?

  • Is it possible to activate both features of my device simultaneously?
