| "Hello, my name is Enkior and I will be your assistant throughout this presentation. My role is to explain in detail what a timer is, as well as to guide you step by step to use this function effectively and tailored to your needs, thanks to your Enki app. You will discover how to fully take advantage of this practical tool to better manage your device." |
Introduction:
| "In this first introductory section, I will present the definition of a timer, the reasons why it might be relevant to use a timer function to control your device, as well as the method to create your timer." |
Definition of a timer:
| "When talking about a timer, it is essential to understand precisely what this term means; I will provide you with a clear definition." |
|
A timer is a command sent to an object to indicate: "In X seconds, minutes, or hours, you must change your state." Once the timer is activated, a countdown begins and, when it reaches zero, the programmed action is executed. The timer allows performing a simple action after a predefined delay. |
|
|
How does it work exactly? To program a timer, two elements must be defined:
| |
Reasons to use a timer:
| "At first glance, using a timer might seem basic, but it can be very useful. So why choose to use a timer?" |
Forgetfulness will no longer be an issue for you: thanks to this system, you will no longer risk leaving your device on all day by mistake. You can thus avoid unnecessary waste and potential risks related to a device left running too long.
Regarding energy savings, this device allows you to limit the usage time of appliances that consume a lot of electricity. By precisely controlling the usage duration, you naturally reduce your energy consumption, which results in lower electricity bills and a positive contribution to environmental preservation.
User comfort is also greatly improved. You no longer need to get up or take out your smartphone to turn off a device. The timer takes care of everything automatically, offering you a simple and convenient daily experience while allowing you to better manage your electrical equipment effortlessly.
Procedure to create a timer:
| "I will explain in detail the procedure to access the screen dedicated to creating your timer. You will discover, step by step, the path to easily navigate to this screen, so you can start designing your timer simply and effectively." |
|
1 - Open the Enki app by selecting the " 2 - On the main page of the "Home" tab of the Enki app, find your device, then click on it to access its control page. 3 - On this page, please click on the "Timer" tile displayed on the screen. The timer configuration page for your device will then appear. |
Steps to create your timer:
| "In this second essential part, I will guide you step by step so that you can configure the timer clearly and effectively. I will explain the possible actions with your device via the timer, as well as how to set up the timer that will execute the defined action at the end of the countdown." |
Define the action to execute when the timer expires:
| "Let's start with the possible actions you have with your device in the timer." |
|
4 - You can, upon opening the timer, see that you have the possibility to perform the following actions with your device:
Please click on the action to perform for your device to highlight and select it for the timer. |
| "As an example, we will consider that, with the Inspire connected fan, the following action will be defined: Ventilation will be turned off at the end of the countdown." |
Setting the timer duration:
| "Next, it is essential to determine a precise duration for the timer. This duration that we will carefully define plays a fundamental role, as it is at the end of this countdown that the previously configured action will be automatically triggered. In other words, the time parameter we set conditions the exact moment when the desired operation will take effect." |
| 5 - To configure the timer, you need to follow a series of specific steps depending on your device's operating system: | |
|
|
| "In this example, we will set a timer with a precise duration of 3 hours and 10 minutes. This means that from the moment we activate or confirm this timer, the countdown will automatically start. The delay will then be counted down until it reaches zero, marking the end of the defined period." |
| To confirm the configuration of your timer that you just set, you need to validate by clicking on the checkmark "✔". This checkmark is located at the top right of the window dedicated to the timer. Once you click on this icon, your choice is saved and the timer countdown starts immediately, allowing you to track the time you defined. |
|
| "To conclude our example, we will assume that the Inspire connected fan will execute the following action: Turn off the ventilation function once the countdown of 3 hours, 10 minutes, and 0 seconds has elapsed. | |
| In other words, once you validate your timer, within a period of 3 hours and 10 minutes, the Inspire connected fan will stop the ventilation when the allotted time expires." | |
| "Congratulations! You have now acquired the essential fundamental knowledge to control your device using a timer, both simply and effectively. Thanks to this solid foundation, you are able to manage your device’s operation by precisely programming the activation or deactivation time. This will not only save you time but also optimize the use of your device by automating its operations according to your specific needs." |
Things to know about timers:
Can I launch multiple actions with one timer?
No, timers are designed to execute a single action after the delay you set.
Is it possible to run multiple timers simultaneously on the same device?
No, only one timer can run per device. To start another, you must either stop the current timer or wait for it to finish.
Can a timer be executed on multiple devices simultaneously?
No, the timer is specific to a given device. That is why it is only accessible from the control page of that device, which will be the only one affected by the timer.
Is it possible to have multiple devices on a timer simultaneously?
Yes, all devices compatible with a timer can be activated individually. Each timer must be configured from the control page specific to each device.
-
Why are not all functions of my device available in the timer?
The timer only allows executing the main and basic functions of devices. Complex commands related to the same device are not supported by the timer.
-
How to stop an already active timer?
To stop your timer, please follow the steps indicated below.
| Android: | iOS: |
|
|
-
Is it possible to change the duration of my ongoing timer?
No, you must stop the timer before reconfiguring it.
-
Is it possible to activate both features of my device simultaneously?
Yes, both features can be activated simultaneously; however, only one action can be executed at a time.
