Type of thermostat installation

There are two main ways to install your thermostat, each with their own advantages. The choice will depend on your existing setup and your preferences.

Wired Installation

  • Direct Replacement: If you are replacing an old wired thermostat, this is the easiest option.
  • Direct Connection to Boiler: The thermostat is connected directly to your boiler via the existing cables.
  • Remote Control: You can control your thermostat remotely using the Enki app.
  • Direct Boiler Ignition: The thermostat sends a signal directly to the boiler to turn it on or off.

Wireless Installation

  • Flexible Installation: You can place your thermostat anywhere in the room, without being limited by cables.
  • Boiler Relay Required: A compatible boiler relay must be installed on your boiler to enable wireless communication between the thermostat and the boiler. For a list of **compatible relays**, see the help page Compatible Boiler Relays
  • Setup via the Enki App: You must add the boiler relay to the Enki app before you can add your thermostat.
  • Communication via Enki Box: The thermostat communicates with the boiler relay via your Enki Box.

Which Mode Should I Choose?

  • Choose wired installation if:
    • You are replacing an old wired thermostat.
    • You want a quick and easy installation.
  • Choose wireless installation if:
    • You want more flexibility in the placement of your thermostat.
    • You don't have existing wiring.
    • You want to complete your installation with thermostatic heads that can also control the boiler
