There are two main ways to install your thermostat, each with their own advantages. The choice will depend on your existing setup and your preferences.
Wired Installation
- Direct Replacement: If you are replacing an old wired thermostat, this is the easiest option.
- Direct Connection to Boiler: The thermostat is connected directly to your boiler via the existing cables.
- Remote Control: You can control your thermostat remotely using the Enki app.
- Direct Boiler Ignition: The thermostat sends a signal directly to the boiler to turn it on or off.
Wireless Installation
- Flexible Installation: You can place your thermostat anywhere in the room, without being limited by cables.
- Boiler Relay Required: A compatible boiler relay must be installed on your boiler to enable wireless communication between the thermostat and the boiler. For a list of **compatible relays**, see the help page Compatible Boiler Relays
- Setup via the Enki App: You must add the boiler relay to the Enki app before you can add your thermostat.
- Communication via Enki Box: The thermostat communicates with the boiler relay via your Enki Box.
