Recommendations and Tips:

Assistant cligne des yeux - Parle.gif "Before starting the pairing of your Wi-Fi device, I suggest you check the recommendations and tips below."

  • Your Wi-Fi network must operate on the 2.4 GHz band. To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended that the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands be separated under different SSIDs(1). Please contact your Internet service provider if you need assistance verifying the frequencies used by your Wi-Fi network and separating them if necessary.

  • It is recommended to keep only your main Wi-Fi access point active and disable all Wi-Fi repeaters during the pairing of your Wi-Fi device.

  • Your Wi-Fi network SSID and password must not include special characters(2). It must consist exclusively of lowercase letters, uppercase letters and numbers.

  • The Wi-Fi security encryption(3) of your internet box must be WPA2 only. WEP and WPA3 are not supported by your Wi-Fi device. WPA and WPA/WPA2 present a security risk and may cause altered functioning.

  • Please ensure that your Wi-Fi device and internet box are located as close to each other as possible. (If necessary, temporarily move your Wi-Fi device closer to the internet box to proceed with pairing.)

  • Unplug all devices that might emit a Wi-Fi network or to which the product could connect, such as Wi-Fi repeaters.

  • If you have multiple Wi-Fi devices to add, it is essential to power only one device at a time. The others must be disconnected from their power supply.

  • During the pairing operations, please disable mobile/cellular data(4) in your smartphone options. It is important not to enable airplane mode, but only to disable mobile/cellular data.

"If you have questions about technical terms, I am here to answer them:

(1) SSID: This is the name of your Wi-Fi network visible in the Wi-Fi settings of your device.

(2) Special characters: These are characters like "?", "!", "@", "#", etc...

(3) Wi-Fi security encryption: This is a method used to protect the information exchanged between your device and your internet box.

(4) Mobile/cellular data: This refers to internet access via 4G / 5G"

Before starting the pairing process of your Wi-Fi device, please ensure it is properly powered and is producing electricity.

"Danger.png Warning! Danger.png

The app does not verify the connection of the Wi-Fi device to the platform. Therefore, it is possible to finalize the installation without the Wi-Fi device having successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network.

We invite you to wait for one hour. If data is received after one hour, then your Wi-Fi device has successfully joined your Wi-Fi network. Otherwise, your Wi-Fi device did not connect to your Wi-Fi network. We invite you to verify the password you entered and the network prerequisites for proper pairing of your device. You must delete your Wi-Fi device and restart its installation from scratch. To do this, go back to the section "Step 1: Select and Confirm Your Device" "

13 - To finalize, you must register your device.
  • Click on "Name"

  • Give a name to your Wi-Fi device; each of your devices must have a different name so you can easily identify which device the name belongs to and control.

  • Press the "validate" key on the keyboard to dismiss it.

  • Click on the room where you want to add your device. If you don't have a room yet, create one. The room is where your device is located.

  • Scroll the screen if needed.

  • Click on "Next".

  • Finally, click on "Finish"

Assistant cligne des yeux - Parle.gif "I strongly recommend naming your Wi-Fi device with its proper name to find it easily among your devices. For example, "Solar panels garden side"."

What You Should Know About Your Device:

  • Can I restart my Wi-Fi device remotely?
Flèche Enki.png No, it is not possible to restart your Wi-Fi device remotely.

  • Can I place my Wi-Fi device in a confined space?
Flèche Enki.png No, it is important not to place your Wi-Fi device in a confined space or near an object that emits wireless radio waves. (Internet box, TV, microwave, etc...), as this may disturb communications and make its use unstable.

  • Can I associate multiple Wi-Fi devices on my account?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, you can associate as many Wi-Fi devices as you want on your account, within the same house or in several different houses.

  • Can I connect my Wi-Fi device to a Wi-Fi repeater?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, this is possible. But it is not recommended, as Wi-Fi repeaters can sometimes have a suboptimal connection. Moreover, it is very important that the SSID of your Wi-Fi repeater is different from the internet box. If the SSID is identical, this can cause recurring and random disconnections because your Wi-Fi device might switch from connection point A (the internet box) to connection point B (the repeater), and vice versa.

  • No data is received after one hour of installation, what should I do?
Flèche Enki.png If no data is received after one hour of the Wi-Fi device being connected, it means it did not connect to your Wi-Fi network. You must delete the Wi-Fi device from your account and restart its installation. Be careful to enter the correct Wi-Fi password; if you want to be sure, you can apply the method in the article "How Does My Wi-Fi Password Verification Work.".

  • The Enki app asks for access to location services; should I allow it?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, it is very important to enable location services so the app can correctly detect the networks around you.

iOS - Activer le service de connexion local.gif
    • On my iPhone, should I enable local network access in my iPhone settings?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, local network access settings must be active, as this setting allows the phone to communicate via Wi-Fi with another device. Without this setting active, the phone cannot exchange information with the Wi-Fi device when it is connected.
