"When it comes to scheduling, it is essential to understand exactly what it is. I will explain the definition of scheduling."

Réveille Enki.gif

Scheduling your device is directly linked to a specific time event. This event acts as a trigger that allows your device to automatically perform the actions you have chosen, without manual intervention each time.

In summary, this mechanism gives a connected device its ability to become autonomous and perform the right action, that is, the one you have defined, at the right time, without you needing to give it instructions every time. This is what is called its sense of "when"!

You have the ability to schedule your device to adopt a specific state at a given time, also choosing a specific day. Additionally, you can instruct it to return to another state at the end of this schedule, allowing complete and flexible management of its behaviors according to your needs.

Why create a schedule:

Assistant cligne des yeux - Parle.gif

"It should be noted that connected devices can be controlled by various methods. However, why prioritize scheduling?"

Some devices can be configured to operate automatically either through scenarios or by using the schedules available in the heating menu. However, it is important to emphasize that the scheduling function also has a specific and complementary utility in managing these devices.

It is particularly interesting to opt for an individual schedule when you want to apply a simple automation to a single specific device. Indeed, scenarios and schedules can include multiple devices simultaneously, which can sometimes be excessive or inappropriate if your goal is to manage only one item. In this case, dedicated scheduling offers a more targeted and effective solution, allowing you to directly configure that single device according to your specific needs.

Furthermore, the scheduling section allows you to include several distinct schedules. You can quickly activate or deactivate these different schedules using the activation sliders in this section. This feature provides great flexibility, as it allows you to easily and quickly modify settings associated with a single device without having to intervene in more complex scenarios or schedules. This flexibility is especially useful for adapting the device's behavior according to changing needs or particular circumstances.

How to create a schedule:

Steps to create your schedule:

Assistant cligne des yeux - Parle.gif

"In this second important part, I will guide you step by step so you can configure the start of your schedule clearly and effectively. Then, if you wish, I will also explain how to set up a final sequence in this schedule, which will allow modifying the state of the concerned device. This will give you the ability to fully control the lifecycle of your device, from its initialization to its final state change."

Configure a scheduled action:

Assistant cligne des yeux - Parle.gif

"To start, we will establish the first part of your schedule. This step consists of configuring your device so that it adopts a specific state at a defined time. This means you can determine in advance the exact moment your device should change behavior or operation, according to your specific needs. This initial scheduling is essential to automate your device's operation effectively and ensure it meets your expectations at the desired time."

5 - To begin, it is essential to give your schedule a name. This step is crucial because it will allow you to easily and quickly identify the action this schedule will perform later.

Flèche Enki.png To do this, start by clicking on the field titled "Name". This field is specifically designed for you to enter the name of your choice.

Flèche Enki.png Then, type the name you wish to assign to your schedule.

Flèche Enki.png Once you have entered the name, click the confirmation symbol located at the bottom right of your keyboard. This action will validate your entry and dismiss the keyboard from the screen.

"It is important to choose a clear and explicit name for your schedule, which will allow you to quickly recognize its function or purpose when you consult it later."

Android: iOS:

Android - Programmation - Configurer le début - Configurer l'heure.gif

iOS - Ajouter une programmation - Configurer le début - Configuer l'heure.gif

6 - To set the start time of your schedule, begin by clicking on the tile titled "Start time". Once this action is done, you will have three distinct options to precisely set when your schedule should start:

Flèche Enki.png Time: This option allows you to select a fixed and precise time. The schedule will then be based on this determined time to activate. This is an ideal method if you want your system to begin operation at an exact moment, without variation linked to natural conditions.

Flèche Enki.png Dawn: This option corresponds to sunrise. By choosing this alternative, you can set a specific delay that will allow the schedule to start either exactly at dawn or some time before or after this moment. This offers additional flexibility, especially useful if you want your actions to start based on natural morning light.

Flèche Enki.png Dusk: This third option relates to sunset. It allows you to schedule the start based on dusk, with the possibility to choose a time interval before or after this precise moment. This is a particularly practical feature to adapt the schedule to seasonal variations in day length, ensuring optimal operation in the evening.

"To illustrate a concrete example in this tutorial, we will take as a starting point the start time corresponding to dusk. We will then specify that the schedule should start 01:00 before this precise moment.

In summary, this means the schedule will be triggered one hour before sunset, allowing anticipation of events linked to this time of day."

Assistant cligne des yeux - Parle.gif

Assistant cligne des yeux - Alerte.gif

"It is important to note that a schedule should not be confused with a scenario. Indeed, in a schedule, it is not possible to include multiple start times. This means you can only define one precise moment for the scheduled action to begin. If you want the device to perform the same action at several different times, it will be necessary to create several distinct schedules, each with its own start time. This method ensures better organization and avoids any confusion in executing scheduled actions."

7 - It is now time to determine the state your device should be in when the schedule starts. To do this, you must click on the tile titled "Device state". Once this action is done, a new page will appear, presenting the different possible states from which you can choose. These options allow you to simply configure the initial behavior of your device according to your specific needs:

"In the example above, regarding the connected radiator, we will select the state for the desired temperature at 21°C.

For now, we can draw a first conclusion regarding this initial step. Indeed, if we do not activate the end of schedule, then our schedule will be executed automatically every day one hour before sunset. This action will aim to change the state of the connected radiator, setting it to the desired temperature state at 21°C."

Configure an end to the schedule:

Assistant cligne des yeux - Parle.gif

"Next, we will now address the second step of your schedule. This phase is not mandatory but it is essential because it consists of configuring your device so that it adopts a specific state once the schedule is finished. In other words, you will be able to precisely define when the schedule ends, as well as the state the device should be in at that time. This configuration will allow you to better control the final behavior of your device, ensuring it perfectly meets your expectations once the scheduling process is complete."

Android: iOS:

Android - Programmation - Configurer la fin - Activer la fin.gif

iOS - Ajouter une programmation - Configurer la fin - Activer la fin.gif

8 - To be able to end your schedule, you must first activate it. To do this, simply click on the slider located on the tile titled "Activate an end". Once you click this slider , it will change state and switch to the appearance . Then, the various parameters allowing you to configure the end of your schedule will appear just below, offering you the possibility to precisely customize the conclusion of your schedule according to your needs.

9 - To set the end time of your schedule, start by clicking on the tile titled "End time". Once this action is done, you will have three distinct options to precisely set when your schedule should end:

Flèche Enki.png Time: This option allows you to select a fixed and precise time. The schedule will then be based on this determined time to finalize the schedule. This is an ideal method if you want your system to end its operation at an exact moment, without variation linked to natural conditions.

Flèche Enki.png Dawn: This option corresponds to sunrise. By choosing this alternative, you can set a specific delay that will allow the schedule to end either exactly at dawn or some time before or after this moment. This offers additional flexibility, especially useful if you want your actions to end based on natural morning light.

Flèche Enki.png Dusk: This third option relates to sunset. It allows you to program the end of your schedule based on dusk, with the possibility to choose a time interval before or after this precise moment. This is a particularly practical feature to adapt the schedule to seasonal variations in day length, ensuring optimal operation in the evening.

"To illustrate a concrete example in this tutorial, we will take as the endpoint the end time corresponding to a fixed time. We will then specify that the schedule should end at 23:30.

In summary, this means the schedule will always end at 23:30, which allows precise regularity in stopping the schedule."

10 - Finally, you must determine the state your device should be in when the schedule ends. To do this, you must click on the tile titled "Device state". Once this action is done, a new page will appear, presenting the different possible states from which you can choose. These options allow you to simply configure the final behavior of your device according to your specific needs:

"In the example above, regarding the connected radiator, we selected the state 18°C.

For now, with the defined parameters, we can draw a second conclusion regarding this intermediate step. Our schedule will be executed automatically every day one hour before sunset. This action will aim to change the state of the connected radiator, setting it to the desired temperature state at 21°C. Then, to end the schedule at 23:30, the connected radiator will be set to the desired temperature state at 18°C."

Set the operating days:

Assistant cligne des yeux - Parle.gif

"To finalize your schedule, it is essential to precisely choose the days on which you want this schedule to be activated. I will guide you step by step so you can accurately select the days corresponding to your specific needs. This step is crucial to ensure the schedule operates only at the desired times, giving you optimal control and personalized use according to your timetable."

Android: iOS:

Android - Programmation - Configurer la fin - Configurer les jours.gif

iOS - Ajouter une programmation - Configurer la fin - Configurer les jours.gif

11 - Scroll down to the section titled "Day of the week" if you are using an Android device, or the section "Recurrence" if you are on iOS. This step is essential to access scheduling options related to specific days of the week.

By default, when you arrive at this section, all days of the week are automatically selected. This means the schedule you define will apply every day, without exception, unless you modify this selection.

If you want your schedule to be active every day, there is no need to click on any particular day; just leave the selection as is, with all days checked. However, if you prefer your schedule not to run on certain specific days, you must click on those days to deselect them. This action allows you to precisely customize the days when the schedule will be active or inactive, according to your needs.

Assistant cligne des yeux - Parle.gif

"To illustrate our scheduling example, we will click on Sunday and Saturday. By choosing these two days, we ensure they are not active in our configuration. Thus, the schedule we set up will only be effective from Monday to Friday. This means all actions or rules defined in this schedule will not apply during the weekend, allowing specific management of weekdays only."

12 - To conclude this step, all that remains is to save the schedule you just configured.

To perform this save, you must locate and click the button titled "Save", which is at the bottom of the screen. This button is designed to validate and keep all the changes you have made.

Once you click this button, the schedule will be successfully saved. Then, you will be automatically redirected to the main schedule list, where you can view all existing schedules or create new ones if necessary.

What to know about schedules:

  • Is it mandatory to set an end time for my schedule?
Flèche Enki.png No, setting an end time for the schedule is optional. You can choose to schedule only a start if you want your device to switch to a particular state at a specific time.
  • Can I create multiple schedules?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, it is possible to create multiple schedules. To create a new schedule when you already have some, please follow the instructions below:
Android: iOS:

Android - Programmation - Ajouter une nouvelle programmation (2nd).gif

iOS - Ajouter une programmation - Ajouter une nouvelle programmation (2nd).gif

Two options are available depending on your phone type, whether Android or iOS:

Flèche Enki.png Android: Please click the add button "" located at the top right of the screen.

Flèche Enki.png iOS: We invite you to click on "Add a schedule", located below your existing schedules.

  • Is it possible to split my schedule into two distinct schedules?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, it is perfectly possible to split your schedule into two parts. To do this, please delete the end of the current schedule, then create a new schedule specifying only a start, as well as the time and state desired for your device that were intended for the end of the other schedule.
  • Is there a limit to the number of schedules I can create for my device?
Flèche Enki.png No, there is no limit on the number of schedules per device; you can create as many as you want.
  • What are the practices to avoid in scheduling?
Flèche Enki.png It is essential to avoid overlapping times between your schedules, especially when they have defined durations. Always allow at least a one-minute interval between two consecutive schedules. It is also recommended to check the state of your devices and set your device to different states at the start and end of each schedule.
  • How to disable my schedule without deleting it?
Flèche Enki.png It is possible to disable your schedule without deleting it. Please follow the instructions below:

    Android: iOS:

    Android - Programmation - Désactiver la programmation.gif

iOS - Ajouter une programmation - Désactiver une programmation.gif

Next to the schedule section, you will find a switch-type slider. This slider is designed to be clicked to toggle between different states. Its operation is simple: by clicking it, you can activate or deactivate the schedule according to your needs. This feature allows you to easily control whether your schedule is running or not.

Flèche Enki.png When the slider is in this state, it means your schedule is activated. In other words, all the instructions or tasks you have scheduled are running normally. You can therefore be assured that your system operates according to your defined settings.

Flèche Enki.png Conversely, when the slider is in this other state, it indicates your schedule is deactivated. In this case, none of the scheduled tasks will be executed until you reactivate the slider. This option is particularly useful if you want to temporarily pause the schedule without deleting it.

  • I just created a schedule, I am already within the time range, but it does not start. Why?
Flèche Enki.png It is important to note that the schedule only starts at the exact planned time. If this time has passed, even if you are still within the defined time range, the schedule will not start. For example, if it is 2:05 PM and you create a schedule wanting your device to adopt a particular state between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, it will not start because the start time, 2:00 PM, has already passed. The schedule only begins at the precise time of 2:00 PM.
  • I configured a schedule after the start time has passed. However, once the end time is exceeded, my device's state did not change. Why?
Flèche Enki.png If the start time has already passed, it means the schedule has not yet started. Therefore, if it has not started, it cannot stop, which explains why, at the end time, your device did not switch to the expected state. The end function only works if the start has actually begun.
  • My device is already in the state configured for the start of the schedule. Will it be set to the expected state at the end of the schedule?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, once the schedule has started, regardless of the initial state of your device, it will be set to the state defined for the start of the schedule, even if this state is the same. Also, since the start of the schedule is launched, the end phase will also be executed. Therefore, your device will be correctly placed in the expected state at the end of the schedule. (Please note this excludes temporary overrides, as this type of action takes precedence over the scheduling function.)
  • If I change my device's state during the schedule, will it still adopt the state planned at the end of the schedule?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, once the schedule has started, whatever changes are made to the device's state, the selected state will indeed be applied at the end of the schedule. (Please note this excludes temporary overrides, as this type of action takes precedence over the scheduling function.)
  • My device is offline, unresponsive, or out of range at the start or end of the schedule but reconnects later. Will it be set to the expected state?
Flèche Enki.png No, as soon as your device is offline, it does not receive the information. The information sent is a one-time data; the device must be online at that precise moment. If it is not, the data is lost and will not be retransmitted. Therefore, when the device is offline, unresponsive, or out of range, its state will not be changed.
  • Is it possible to use schedules simultaneously with other features such as scenarios or heating plans?
Flèche Enki.png It is strongly discouraged to use schedules in parallel with heating plans if your device is eligible for this feature. Indeed, this could cause operational conflicts between plans and schedules. However, simultaneous use of schedules and scenarios remains possible, provided you carefully ensure that the times defined in scenarios do not conflict with those of schedules.
