Steps to change your Wi-Fi device's connection.
What you should know about your device.
Recommendations and tips:
| "Before starting the Wi-Fi connection change of your Wi-Fi device, I suggest you check the recommendations and tips below." |
Your Wi-Fi network must operate on the 2.4 GHz band. To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended that the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands be separated under different SSIDs(1). Please contact your Internet service provider if you need assistance verifying the frequencies used by your Wi-Fi network and separating them if necessary.
It is recommended to keep only your main Wi-Fi access point active and disable all Wi-Fi repeaters when changing your Wi-Fi device's connection.
Your Wi-Fi network password should not include special characters(2). It should consist exclusively of lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and numbers.
The Wi-Fi security encryption(3) of your internet box must be WPA2 only. WEP and WPA3 are not supported by your Wi-Fi device. WPA and WPA/WPA2 present a security risk; therefore, functionality may be impaired.
Please ensure that your Wi-Fi device and the Internet box are located as close to each other as possible. (If necessary, temporarily move your Wi-Fi device closer to the Internet box to proceed with the connection change.)
Unplug all devices that may emit a Wi-Fi network or to which the product could connect, such as Wi-Fi repeaters.
If you have multiple Wi-Fi devices to reconnect, it is essential to keep only one of these Wi-Fi devices powered on at a time. The others must be disconnected from their power supply. However, those already connected can remain powered.
During the connection change operations, we ask you to disable mobile/cellular data(4) in your smartphone settings. It is important not to enable airplane mode, but only to disable mobile/cellular data.
"If you have questions about technical terms, I am here to answer them: (1) SSID: This is the name of your Wi-Fi network visible in your device's Wi-Fi settings. (2) Special characters: These are characters like "?", "!", "@", "#", etc... (3) Wi-Fi security encryption: This is a method used to protect the information exchanged between your device and your Internet box. (4) Mobile/cellular data: This refers to internet access via 4G / 5G" |
| Before starting the connection change process of your Wi-Fi device, plug it in, wait about a minute, and please confirm that your device is in the following state. | |
Steps to change your Wi-Fi device's connection:
Step 1: Enter the connection change menu and confirm your device
"In this section, I will explain how to enter your Wi-Fi device's connection change menu and identify it in the app for the connection change. Please follow the instructions below:" | |
1 - Open the Enki app by clicking the " 2 - In the "Home" menu, click on your Wi-Fi device's tile. 3 - Click on "Change Wi-Fi network" 4 - Scan your device's QR code |
"The QR code is directly attached to your Wi-Fi device. If it does not work, is unreadable, or lost, I invite you to contact our technical support, and request to receive the QR code again. It will be important to provide the following information:
| 5 - Verify that your device is in the following state: | |
"If your Wi-Fi device is not in this state, don’t panic, please do the following:
After a few moments, your Wi-Fi device will return to the expected state." |
6 - Confirm that your Wi-Fi device is still connected to your personal Wi-Fi network:
The phone will send a request through your Wi-Fi network to erase the network settings on your Wi-Fi device. The message "Reset in progress, please wait" will be displayed. During this step, your Wi-Fi device will be in the following state:
"If your Wi-Fi device does not behave as described above, it means your phone cannot communicate with it through your Wi-Fi network. Please check the following points:
Once the network settings are reset, you will proceed to the screen to select your Wi-Fi device's temporary Wi-Fi network.
When this screen appears, your Wi-Fi device is ready to be reconnected.
Step 2: Reconnect your device to your Wi-Fi network
"In this section, I will explain how to change your Wi-Fi device's connection from one active Wi-Fi network to another. It is important to carefully follow the indicated steps and that the app and device respond as mentioned." |

"You may receive a message indicating the device has no internet connection, this is normal, your Wi-Fi device is not an internet box. Also, a message may ask "Do you want to stay connected to this network?" You must confirm that you want to stay connected." |
"If your phone does not connect to the temporary Wi-Fi network "AD-WMACKC-U1" of your Wi-Fi device, here are some troubleshooting tips:
| 8 - If you are on manual connection, click "Yes". In auto detection, there is nothing to do. Wait for your phone to connect to your device. | |

"If auto detection fails, I invite you to perform the following actions to try to resolve the issue:
| 9 - You must select your personal Wi-Fi network and enter the associated password to instruct the device to connect to this network. | |||||

| When your Wi-Fi device tries to connect to the Wi-Fi network you previously indicated, it will show the following behavior: | |
| "If an anomaly occurs at this stage, where your Wi-Fi device's light remains slow blinking with its temporary Wi-Fi network "AD-WMACKC-U1", it is important to ensure before validating your Wi-Fi password that the phone is still connected to the temporary network "AD-WMACKC-U1" of your Wi-Fi device." |
Then, after a few moments, between 30 seconds and one minute, your Wi-Fi device will switch to the following state:
The adjacent screen will appear. This means your Wi-Fi device will be successfully reconnected to your personal Wi-Fi network. |
"If your Wi-Fi device remains longer than one minute (really very long) on the "Connecting" step, it means it is not connecting to your Wi-Fi network. When your Wi-Fi device is connected to your Wi-Fi network, the temporary Wi-Fi network "AD-WMACKC-U1" disappears. If your Wi-Fi device returns to the state "No data, Wi-Fi dongle ready to be paired," and its Wi-Fi network "AD-WMACKC-U1" is still present, then your Wi-Fi device was denied access by your internet box or did not detect the Wi-Fi network correctly." |
"If the connection fails at the last step, to help you understand the anomaly if it does not install, here are some tips:
| "Congratulations, your Wi-Fi device has been successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network, you can now use it." |
What you should know about your device:
Can I connect my Wi-Fi device to a Wi-Fi repeater?
Yes, this is possible. But it is not recommended, as Wi-Fi repeaters may sometimes have suboptimal connections. Moreover, it is very important that the SSID of your Wi-Fi repeater is different from the internet box. If the SSID is identical, it can cause recurring and random disconnections because your Wi-Fi device could switch from connection point A (the internet box) to connection point B (the repeater), and vice versa.

The Enki app asks for access to location services, should I allow it?
Yes, it is very important to enable location services so that the app can properly detect the networks around you.
On my iPhone, do I need to enable local network access in my iPhone settings?
Yes, local network access settings must be enabled, as this setting allows the phone to communicate over Wi-Fi with another device. Without this setting enabled, the phone cannot exchange information with the Wi-Fi device when connected to it.
