Recommendations and Tips:

Assistant cligne des yeux - Parle.gif "Before starting the reconnection of your Enki Connect or Essentiel b Connect box, I suggest you check the recommendations and tips below."

  • Your Wi-Fi network must operate on the 2.4 GHz band. To ensure optimal performance, it is recommended that the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands be separated under different SSIDs(1). Please contact your Internet Service Provider if you need assistance verifying the frequencies used by your Wi-Fi network and separating them if necessary.

  • It is recommended to keep only your main Wi-Fi access point active and disable all Wi-Fi repeaters during the reconnection of the Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box.

  • Your Wi-Fi network password must not include special characters(2). It should consist exclusively of lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and numbers.

  • The Wi-Fi security encryption(3) of your internet box must be WPA2 only. WEP and WPA3 are not supported by the Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box. WPA and WPA/WPA2 present a security risk; therefore, functionality could be impaired.

  • Please ensure that the Enki Connect / Essentiel b box and the Internet box are located as close to each other as possible. (If necessary, temporarily move the Enki Connect / Essentiel b box closer to the Internet box to proceed with reconnection.)

  • Unplug all devices that might emit a Wi-Fi network or to which the product could connect, such as Wi-Fi repeaters.

  • If you have multiple Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect boxes to reconnect, it is essential to keep only one of these boxes powered on at a time. The others must be disconnected from their power supply. However, those already connected may remain powered.

  • During the reconnection process, we ask you to disable mobile/cellular data(4) in your smartphone settings. It is important not to activate airplane mode, but only to disable mobile/cellular data.

"If you have questions about technical terms, I am here to answer them:

(1) SSID: This is the name of your Wi-Fi network visible in the Wi-Fi settings of your device.

(2) Special characters: These are characters such as "?", "!", "@", "#", etc...

(3) Wi-Fi security encryption: This is a method used to protect information exchanged between your device and your Internet box.

(4) Mobile/cellular data: This is internet access via 4G / 5G"

Before starting the reconnection process of your Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box, plug it into power, wait about one minute, and please confirm that your device is in the following state.
Box connect - Non connecté.gif
  • LAN: Solid
  • WLAN: Blinking
  • POWER: Solid
  • Temporary Wi-Fi network: Present

Not connected, not synchronized

Assistant cligne des yeux - Alerte.gif

"It is important that you have not pressed the reset button located next to the USB-C power port of the Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box.

This button is a reset button; the device will visually be in the same state as above, but the stored information will be empty, and it will no longer have its access identifier to all your products it controls on your account.

If you have pressed the reset button, then it is useless to continue this reconnection procedure. If you continue after resetting, the device will connect to your internet box, but its middle light will remain blinking, and the temporary network AJ_ENKI will no longer be visible. However, you still will not have access to your products to control.

If you have reset your Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box, then the only solution is to delete everything and start over in your app by removing the device and reinstalling it."

"How to check that the temporary network of your Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box is correctly emitted? You can see it via your phone's Wi-Fi settings, and depending on whether you use Android or iOS, the instructions are below."

Assistant cligne des yeux - Alerte.gif

"Preferably, keep only your main Wi-Fi access point active and remove any Wi-Fi repeaters. Also, your Wi-Fi network must be on 2.4 GHz. For optimal success, it is better that the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequencies are separated into different SSIDs."

  • Click on the "Enter your password" field.

  • Enter your Wi-Fi password (Security key shown on your internet box if not changed).

Assistant cligne des yeux - Alerte.gif

"Your Wi-Fi password must not contain special characters. Only lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and numbers."

Then, after a few moments, between 30 seconds and one minute, the box switches to the following state:

Box ENKI Connect 3 voyants allumés.png
  • LAN: Solid
  • WLAN: Solid
  • POWER: Solid
  • Temporary Wi-Fi network: Absent

Connected and synchronized

The screen shown next to this will appear. This means your Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box is successfully reconnected to your personal Wi-Fi network.

Assistant cligne des yeux - Alerte.gif

"If the Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box remains for more than a minute (really a long time) on the "Connecting to Wi-Fi, please wait" step, it means it is not able to connect to your Wi-Fi network.

When the Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box is connected to your Wi-Fi network, the temporary AJ_ENKI network disappears. If the Enki Connect box returns to the "Not connected, not synchronized" state, and its AJ_ENKI Wi-Fi network is still present, then the Enki Connect box was denied access by your internet box or did not detect the Wi-Fi network properly."

Assistant cligne des yeux - Dépannage.gif

"If the connection fails at the last step, to help you understand the anomaly if it does not install, here are some tips:

  • Is the temporary network of the Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box present?
    • Yes: The Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box did not manage to connect to your internet box
Flèche Enki.png Check the distance between the internet box and the Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box, as well as the Wi-Fi password and its security encryption. (To know how to verify your Wi-Fi password, you can access the article: "How to Verify My Wi-Fi Password.")
Flèche Enki.png Check the Wi-Fi frequency used by your Wi-Fi network as indicated in the paragraph: "Recommendations and Tips".

    • No: The Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box managed to connect to your Wi-Fi network but cannot communicate with our platform; here are the possible causes:
Flèche Enki.png A firewall related to your internet box may be the cause; lower the level temporarily if needed.
Flèche Enki.png Restart your internet box. Also, make sure no Wi-Fi repeater is active on the installation during the reconnection phase."

Assistant - Danse de la victoire.gif

"Congratulations, your Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box has been successfully associated with your Wi-Fi network. You can now pair your various devices to it to use them."

What You Should Know About Your Device:

  • The procedure tells me that the box is reconnected, but the WLAN light keeps blinking. Also, the AJ_ENKI network is not present in the list of available Wi-Fi networks in my smartphone’s Wi-Fi settings. What should I do?
Flèche Enki.png If the AJ_ENKI network is no longer present, it means the Connect box has successfully connected to your internet box. Therefore, two options are available to you.

    1. Simulate your Wi-Fi network via a hotspot to check if your personal Wi-Fi network is responsible for the Connect box's failure to communicate with the platform. (You can use the following article for help: "How to Check if My Internet Box is Causing the Block for Wi-Fi Device Connections.")

    2. Your box is empty of information, meaning it has been reset. You must delete it, reset it again, and start over from scratch.

  • Can I connect my Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box to a Wi-Fi repeater?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, it is possible. But it is not recommended because Wi-Fi repeaters sometimes have suboptimal connections. Moreover, it is very important that the SSID of your Wi-Fi repeater is different from the internet box. If the SSID is identical, it can cause recurrent and random disconnections because the Enki Connect / Essentiel b Connect box could switch between connection points A (the internet box) and B (the repeater), and vice versa.

  • The Enki app asks for access to location services; should I allow it?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, it is very important to enable location services so the app can properly detect the networks around you.

iOS - Activer le service de connexion local.gif
    • On my iPhone, do I need to enable local network access in my iPhone settings?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, local network access settings must be enabled because this setting allows the phone to communicate via Wi-Fi with another device. Without this setting enabled, the phone cannot exchange information with the Wi-Fi device when connected.
