Recommendations and tips:

Assistant cligne des yeux - Parle.gif "Before starting the pairing of your Wi-Fi device, I suggest you check the recommendations and tips below."

  • Your Wi-Fi network must operate on the 2.4 GHz band. To ensure optimal operation, it is recommended that the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands be separated under different SSIDs(1). Please contact your Internet service provider if you need assistance verifying the frequencies used by your Wi-Fi network and separating them if necessary.

  • It is recommended to leave only your main Wi-Fi access point active and disable all Wi-Fi repeaters when pairing your Wi-Fi device.

  • Your Wi-Fi network SSID and password must not include special characters(2). It must consist exclusively of lowercase letters, uppercase letters and numbers.

  • The Wi-Fi security encryption(3) of your internet box must be WPA2 only. WEP and WPA3 are not supported by your Wi-Fi device. WPA and WPA/WPA2 present a security risk; therefore, functionality may be impaired.

  • Please ensure that your Wi-Fi device and Internet box are located as close to each other as possible. (If necessary, temporarily move your Wi-Fi device closer to the Internet box to proceed with pairing.)

  • Unplug all devices that might emit a Wi-Fi network or to which the product could connect, such as Wi-Fi repeaters.

  • If you have multiple Wi-Fi devices to add, it is essential to have only one of these devices powered on at a time. The others must be disconnected from power.

  • During the pairing operations, please disable mobile/cellular data(4) in your smartphone settings. It is important not to activate airplane mode, but only to disable mobile/cellular data.

"Do you have questions about technical terms? I am here to answer them:

(1) SSID: This is the name of your Wi-Fi network visible in the Wi-Fi settings of your device.

(2) Special characters: These are characters like "?", "!", "@", "#", etc.

(3) Wi-Fi security encryption: This is a method used to protect information exchanged between your device and your Internet box.

(4) Mobile/cellular data: This refers to internet access via 4G / 5G"

Before starting the pairing process of your Wi-Fi device, plug it in, wait about one minute, and please confirm that your device is in factory mode.

EQUATION - Dongle Bleu.png
  • Solid light.
    Flèche Enki.png Data present, connected.

Assistant cligne des yeux - Alerte.gif "If you remain stuck on the screen "Installation in progress, please wait, this may take a few minutes," it means your Wi-Fi device is not installing and the installation is failing. Check the prerequisites and advice mentioned earlier."

Assistant cligne des yeux - Dépannage.gif

"To help you understand the anomaly if it does not install, here are some tips:

  • Is your Wi-Fi device's temporary network present?
    • Yes: Your Wi-Fi device did not manage to connect to your internet box.
Flèche Enki.png Check the distance between the internet box and your Wi-Fi device, as well as the Wi-Fi password and its security encryption. (To learn how to check your Wi-Fi password, you can access the article: "How to check my Wi-Fi password.")
Flèche Enki.png Check the Wi-Fi frequency used by your Wi-Fi network as indicated in the paragraph: "Recommendations and tips"."

    • No: Your Wi-Fi device has successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network. But its installation failed, here are the possible causes:
Flèche Enki.png A firewall related to your internet box may be the cause; lower the level temporarily if needed.
Flèche Enki.png The phone failed to find your Wi-Fi device; make sure your Wi-Fi frequencies are separated as indicated in the paragraph: "Recommendations and tips". Also, ensure no Wi-Fi repeater is active during the pairing phase."

16 - To finalize, you must register your device.
  • Click on "Name"

  • Give a name to your Wi-Fi device; each of your devices must have a different name so you can easily identify which device the name belongs to and control it.

  • Click the "validate" key on the keyboard to remove it.

  • Click on the room where you want to add your device. If you don't have a room yet, create one. The room is where your device is located.

  • Scroll the screen if needed.

  • Click on "Next".

  • And finally, click on "Finish"

Assistant cligne des yeux - Parle.gif "I strongly recommend naming your Wi-Fi device by its own name to find it easily among your devices. For example, "Living Room Air Conditioner"."

Assistant - Danse de la victoire.gif
"Congratulations, your Wi-Fi device has been successfully paired to your Wi-Fi network, you can now use it."

What you should know about your device:

  • Can I restart my Wi-Fi device remotely?
Flèche Enki.png No, it is not possible to restart your Wi-Fi device remotely.
  • I see my Wi-Fi device's temporary network "AD-WMACKC-U1" in the available Wi-Fi networks in my phone's Wi-Fi settings, what does this mean?
Flèche Enki.png If the temporary Wi-Fi network is visible, it means your Wi-Fi device is not connected to your personal Wi-Fi network; it is therefore available for pairing or reconnection if it is already associated with your account.
  • Can I put my Wi-Fi device in a confined space?
Flèche Enki.png No, it is important not to put your Wi-Fi device in a confined space or near an object that emits wireless radio waves. (Internet box, TV, microwave, etc.) This may disrupt communications and make it unstable during use.
  • Can I associate multiple Wi-Fi devices on my account?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, you can associate as many Wi-Fi devices as you want on your account, within the same house or in several different houses.
  • Can I connect my Wi-Fi device to a Wi-Fi repeater?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, this is possible. But it is not recommended because Wi-Fi repeaters sometimes have connections that are not optimal. Moreover, it is very important that the SSID of your Wi-Fi repeater is different from the internet box. If the SSID is the same, it can cause recurring and random disconnections because your Wi-Fi device could switch from connection point A (the internet box) to connection point B (the repeater), and vice versa.
  • The Enki app asks me to have access to the location service, should I allow it?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, it is very important to enable the location service so that the app can correctly detect networks around you.

iOS - Activer le service de connexion local.gif
    • On my iPhone, do I need to enable local network access in my iPhone settings?
Flèche Enki.png Yes, the local network access settings must be active because this setting allows the phone to communicate via Wi-Fi with another device. Without this setting active, the phone cannot exchange information with the Wi-Fi device when it is connected.
