Steps to pair your device on your Enki box.
What you should know about your device.
Recommendations and tips:
| "Before starting to pair your device on your Enki box, I suggest you check the recommendations and tips below." |
The device to be paired must be placed as close as possible to the Enki box. If necessary, please plug it in or power it near the box, or bring the box closer to establish pairing. You can then return the box or device to their usual location.
The Enki box or the device to be paired must not be located near a Wi-Fi source. If your Enki box is too close to a Wi-Fi source, such as an internet box, the signals(1) of the various protocols(2) can be disrupted.
The Enki box must not be placed in a confined space; it should be positioned in an open area at about 50 centimeters height minimum.
It is recommended to avoid placing the Enki box or the device to be paired near objects likely to cause interference(3), such as microwaves, halogen lamps, metallic objects, etc...
We encourage you to reset your device before each pairing attempt on your Enki box. You can consult "Noirot: Noirot Radiator - Product sheet" to guide you in resetting the product.
If pairing does not occur, please unplug any device that may emit a visible Wi-Fi network(4), such as Wi-Fi repeaters. Only the main internet access for the Enki box should be operational.
If you have multiple devices not associated with your Enki ecosystem, we invite you to only power the device to be associated; for the other devices, please cut their power (switch, circuit breaker, or battery) during pairing. Once the device is paired, you can restore power to another device and proceed with its pairing. And so on.

"If you have questions about technical terms, I am here to answer them: (1) Signals: These are waves sent by devices to communicate. These waves operate at different frequencies, each frequency is like a wire that connects one device to another for communication. (2) Protocols: Each frequency used by a device for communication has a name, this is called the protocol. There are different protocols: Zigbee, EnOcean, IO, RTS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc... |
|
|
(3) Interference: This refers to disturbances between communications. When signals do not arrive properly, the transmitted information cannot be interpreted correctly. This leads to a misunderstanding of the received data, which can cause various communication problems. (4) Device that can emit a Wi-Fi network: To know if your device sends a Wi-Fi network, you can go to your phone’s settings and see the list of Wi-Fi networks available near you. | |

What you should know about your device:
Can I restart my device on my Enki box remotely?
No, it is not possible to restart your device remotely.
Can I place my device in a confined space?
No, it is important not to place your device in a confined space (except for devices designed for this, such as modules intended for flush-mounted boxes) or near an object that emits wireless radio waves. (Internet box, TV, microwave, etc...) This could disturb communications and make its use unstable.
Can I pair multiple similar devices on my account?
Yes, you can pair multiple similar devices on your account, depending on the box’s capacity. The Enki Box V1 can host up to 255 devices, and the Enki Connect Box can host up to 50 devices. It is also possible to associate multiple Enki boxes on a single account, within the same house or across different houses.
Can I pair a device with multiple Enki boxes?
No, to pair a device with an Enki box, you must put the device in listening mode, which erases the current connection stored in the device’s memory.
Can I pair multiple devices at the same time?
No, it is strongly recommended to pair only one device at a time; otherwise, the Enki box will not know which device it should communicate with to validate the installation. This will result in failure. Only one device should be in listening mode; other devices to be paired must be powered off (unplugged or batteries removed).
Can I extend the communication range of my device with Wi-Fi repeaters?
No, devices do not communicate via Wi-Fi; they use radio frequencies with proprietary protocols. They communicate directly with the Enki box. You can associate multiple Enki boxes in your installation to extend the communication network of your devices. The Enki box itself communicates via Wi-Fi for its internet connection.
-
What exactly is the Enki box for in relation to my device?
The Enki box is the connection bridge between the device and the Enki platform. Moreover, it acts as the conductor and language translator. The Enki box allows you to send instructions to your devices from our platform, and devices can send information back to our platform through the Enki box. Without the Enki box, devices using these different communication protocols cannot function on our app.
