How does my connected heating device work in the "Heating" menu?

Introduction:

The "Heating" section of the Enki app groups all your heating devices in a single menu. This allows you to easily and quickly control all your devices, detailed below, without changing interfaces. This feature simplifies managing your thermal comfort every day.
The "Heating" section is available only if your app contains compatible devices. To use its options, add one of the following types:

Connected radiators: Control the desired temperature for precise, customized thermal comfort.

Connected air conditioners: Control the desired temperature for precise, customized comfort.

"Pilot wire" receivers: Choose from several modes (Comfort, Eco, Frost Protection, Off) to easily adapt your heating.

ON/OFF receivers: Simply turn the device on or off for basic but effective management.

Connected thermostats and thermostatic heads: Set the target temperature; they automatically adjust the heating for optimal comfort and controlled energy consumption.
⚠ For ON/OFF receivers, it is important to note that plugs and boiler modules are not included; they have a different purpose. Air conditioners are included, but only temperature control is available here. Advanced settings (fan, modes, etc.) must be configured from the air conditioner's dedicated page in the "Home" menu.

The "Heating" menu manages and schedules the heating for your entire home 🏠, not just one radiator or room (except for Individual mode). It provides an overall view of your thermal comfort.

When creating a schedule, consider your entire home 🏠, not an isolated area.

Once your compatible products have been added, the Heating menu displays:

“Congratulations! You have unlocked the heating feature. It is now time to configure your heating and create a schedule that will run automatically while optimizing your consumption.”

Click “ Let's get started! ”, then choose one of the following options:

  1. Guided setup: Answer a few questions to create your schedule, which you can modify at any time.
  2. Default setup: Apply a predefined schedule that you can customize manually.

How to control my radiators through the "Heating" menu:

Requirements:

To control your radiators as a group through the "Heating" menu, they must be configured in "At home" mode. Here's how:

  • On the "Home" home screen, select your device.
  • Click "Change" on the "Control type" tile.
  • Choose "At home" if it is not already selected.
  • Confirm with "✓" in the upper-right corner (or "Confirm" at the bottom on Android).
If a radiator is included in a mode or schedule, it automatically switches from "Individual control" to "At home"
⚠ To exclude a heating device from collective "At home" control, leave it in "Individual control" and disable it or leave it excluded from all modes.

The different control types:

In the "Heating" menu, you can control your heating in four ways using global control:

  • On the "Control type" tile, click "Change"
  • Choose from these modes:

    Flèche Enki 20px.png Manual: Follows the setpoint in the selected mode until it is manually changed again.
    Flèche Enki 20px.png Off: Heating devices are set to the minimum temperature, frost protection, or turned off if supported.

Note: each control section lists your devices along with their control type. The text color indicates their status:

   Your devices operate according to the "At home" control type (as a group)
  Your devices operate using the "Individual control" control type, according to the device schedule.
  Your devices operate using the "Individual control" control type, in manual mode.
 

Your devices operate using the "Individual control" control type, in frost protection mode.

Regardless of the control type, indicates an event. (Absence detected, window open, etc.) 
  Regardless of the control type, the heating device is turned off (Off)

Control type: Individual

This feature enables individual control of each heating device, without group management. You must control them one at a time, manually or through an individual schedule. (See your device's product page available in the FAQ and the article "How does my device's individual schedule work?" for more information.)

The individual control summary contains various tiles.

Control type:

This tile indicates that heating control is now individual. The devices no longer respond to commands from the "Heating" tab.

Here you will find the status of your heating devices, divided into two categories:

Control type: Off

This feature controls all heating devices configured in "At home" mode, setting the temperature to minimum, frost protection, or off.

This tile indicates that collective control of the heating devices is off. The devices switch to the minimum temperature allowed by their thermostat, frost protection, or off. (Only for devices controlled in "At home" mode.)

This feature controls all heating devices in "At home" mode through heating modes. Temperatures and statuses are preset and customized for each mode, activating all heating devices according to these settings. You must manually activate the modes to control the heating devices collectively.

This feature automatically manages heating devices in "At home" mode according to a predefined schedule. You no longer need to manually adjust the temperature, modes, or power. In short, it provides smart and convenient management adapted to your presence and habits.

The scheduled-control summary contains various tiles.

What is a temporary override?

A temporary override allows you to adjust your heating temperature / pilot wire command temporarily for a limited period without changing the existing schedule. It is useful for unexpected events, temporary needs, or changes in weather.

A temporary override allows you to quickly adjust your heating without changing the scheduled settings, maintaining optimal control of your energy consumption while meeting your current needs.

To create an override, go to your heating device's control page through its tile, modify the temperature, pilot wire command, or status, then set the time to return to the initial schedule.

When a temporary override is active in your schedule, it appears on the timeline in a dedicated area (on the control page). Below it, you will find the current command with the temperature, mode, status, and end time.

⚠ Overrides cannot be created directly from the “Heating” page.

How to create my heating schedule:

The scheduling section of the Heating menu is essential for automating your home🏠 heating. It allows you to schedule times and temperatures for each radiator, optimizing comfort and energy consumption. Below is a practical example of how to create a schedule step by step.

Things to know about the Heating menu:

  • Why doesn't my heating device appear in the menu?
    Flèche Enki 20px.png Check that it is compatible equipment: a connected heating device or air conditioner, a "pilot wire" or ON/OFF receiver, or a connected thermostat or thermostatic head. Also check that it is paired in the correct section of the app.

  • I can't select the "At home" control type for my device. The message says: "Synchronization with the home unavailable. This device is not enabled in any mode in the Heating tab." What should I do?

Flèche Enki 20px.png Enable your heating device in at least one mode to use "At home" control. By default, it is not included in any mode.

In the Heating tab, open “ Manage modes and schedules” to edit a mode and add your device to it.

  • Can I set a schedule for each heating device instead of using a global schedule?
    Flèche Enki 20px.png Yes. From the control page, select "Individual control," then "Device schedule." You can then create a schedule dedicated to that heating device. (Except air conditioners and On/Off receivers.)

  • Can I give multiple schedules the same name?
    Flèche Enki 20px.png No, each schedule must have a unique name.

  • What temperatures are recommended?
    Flèche Enki 20px.png In a home:
          - Living room: 20.0°C
          - Bedroom: 18.0°C
          - Bathroom: 23.0°C
    It is recommended to lower the temperature by 2 to 3°C in an unoccupied room.

  • How do I apply a manual override to my heating device?
    Flèche Enki 20px.png From the control page, modify the setpoint. Then specify the override end time.

  • How do I know if my device is following a schedule?

Check the control type and make sure schedule mode is enabled.

Through the Heating menu:

Check your devices' status: scheduled, manual, frost protection, off, or individual.

  • Can I add a schedule to my favorites ?
    Flèche Enki 20px.png No, schedules do not have a favorites feature.

  • Are new heating devices added to the schedule?
    Flèche Enki 20px.png Yes, they are present but disabled by default in all available modes. For each mode, enable them and configure their setpoint.

  • Can I create multiple away modes with different temperatures?
    Flèche Enki 20px.png Yes. Each mode must have a different name and can use a different temperature.

  • Why won't my radiator turn off?
    Flèche Enki 20px.png Some heating devices cannot be completely turned off. They switch to the minimum temperature or frost protection mode.

  • How long does schedule synchronization take?
    Flèche Enki 20px.png It can take up to 15 minutes depending on the number of modes and devices involved. The more complex the schedule, the longer synchronization takes.

  • How do I change schedules?
    Flèche Enki 20px.png Under the schedule control type, tap "⁝" on the “Current schedule” tile, then tap “Change schedule.” Select the desired schedule, then tap "✓" in the upper-right corner (iOS) or "Save" at the bottom of the screen (Android).

  • What is the difference between individual and manual control?
    Flèche Enki 20px.png With individual control, each heating device operates independently and only its status is visible. With manual control, you can control them collectively using the modes you created.

  • One of my radiators, configured to remain under individual control, automatically switches to "At home" control and follows the collective schedule settings instead of its individual schedule. Why?
    Flèche Enki 20px.png Even if its control type is set to "Individual control," if it is included in one of the modes, it will automatically switch to "At home" control when that mode is applied. Check that your heating device, which should be controlled individually, is excluded from all existing modes. When it is excluded, its slider appears gray in the relevant mode.
