During consumption peaks, when the electrical grid is under strain, RTE (the electricity grid operator in France) calls on players involved in energy flexibility and load shedding.
The goal: to balance the grid in real time by smartly adjusting the consumption of connected devices such as heaters and water heaters.
⚡ How does the Bonus Energy Program work?
The program acts on your devices invisibly to ensure your comfort while easing the grid:
- For your heaters: the set temperature is briefly lowered. The reduction lasts between 15 minutes and 1 hour, with a maximum of 4 times per day.
- For your water heater: it practices smart flexibility. It shifts its heating outside of peak demand periods on power plants. Rest assured: you always keep your hot water, it is simply heated at a more planet-friendly time.
The operation is fully automated and requires no change to your routine:
